Wednesday nights on the Hughes Sullivan Show is Military Night otherwise known as “Honor, Duty, Country”. Hughes is honored to have met and interviewed over 400 members of the armed services these past two years. He is passionate about telling the real story in the War in Iraq, Counterinsurgency and the global fight on terrorism. He is writing a book, preparing an audio book and documentary on his journey to Iraq and highlighting the untold story of the soldiers who have served and the Iraqi’s who are committed to rebuild their country.
Because of his work with the military Hughes was proud to take part in Move America Forward’s historic online telethon which raised more than $1.5 million dollars to send care packages to U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan June 26, 2008. Hughes was called a “break out talent” coming live from Ft. Leavenworth with members of the armed services for five different segments during the broadcast. He was just honored to be a part of the project with the military live from Ft. Leavenworth and cast with the likes of Michelle Malkin, Melanie Morgan, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and many others.
The Hughes Sullivan Show is more than just another conservative talk radio show, Hughes lays it right out there, in his blunt, direct sometimes caustic manner. He states what a lot of people think but are afraid to say. Hughes disdain for the sanctimonious, pompous, arrogant, haughty, condescending and paternalistic liberals of both parties is the driving mantra for his show. One of the newest conservative talk radio hosts blazing new trails for conservative issues and focusing on women’s issues in Susan Allen. As the wife of a prominent office holder, she has had the opportunity to see history in the making from the front row while at the same time finding herself in a position to make things happen. Married for nearly 22 years to former Senator, Governor, Congressman, and legislator, George Allen of VA, Susan has been a partner in public service.
As First Lady of VA she began her initiative on breast cancer awareness which promoted education, research and finding a cure for cancer. She also recognized tourism as part fo the economic engine in VCA and worked to promote this industry around the world while traveling with Governor Allen.
Susan has remained active on the political front working with families of candidates and speaking on behalf of conservative candidates and encouraging greater involvement on the grassroots level. Susan Allen was raised in a military family with a father who served twice in Vietnam as a pilot in the Marine Corps and she graduated from University of South Carolina. She has served on numerous boards and remains actively involved with issues at home and abroad that pertain to woman and children. Her greatest joy comes from being wife and mother to three children: daughters Tyler and Brooke and son Forrest.
